Expense Tracker terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Signifact Solutions Private Limited, a company registered in Tamil Nadu, India, trading as Managics ("we", "us"). They apply to the Expense Tracker mobile app for Android and iOS (com.signifact.expenser) and the services behind it (together, "the app"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Who can use the app

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.
  • The app is for keeping track of your own and your family's personal money. It is not meant for running a business's accounts.
  • You must give us accurate sign-in details and keep them up to date.

2. Your account

  • You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your phone, password and sign-in codes safe, and tell us at once at support@managics.ai if you think someone else has used your account.
  • If you create a family space, you are its owner. You decide who to invite and what they can see and do, and you are responsible for the people you invite following these terms. Members can see the records shared in that space.

3. What the app does, and what it does not

  • The app helps you record and organise your spending, budgets, bills and money shared with others. It is a record-keeping tool only.
  • We are not a bank, payment service, lender, or financial, tax or legal adviser. The app does not move money, pay bills, or hold funds for you. Nothing in the app is financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
  • Figures, totals, budgets, reminders and anything recorded automatically from payment alerts may be incomplete or wrong. Alerts can be missed, read incorrectly or arrive late. Always check important figures against your bank statements before relying on them, and do not rely on the app's reminders as your only way of paying a bill on time.
  • Automatic capture works only on supported phones and with supported apps, and only while you allow it. We may add, change or remove supported apps at any time.

4. Your data

  • The records you put in the app remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and show them only as needed to run the app for you and as described in our privacy policy.
  • You are responsible for having the right to add information about other people, such as the names and numbers of people you share costs with or invite.
  • You can export your transactions and delete your account at any time (see section 9). Keep your own copy of anything important; we are not responsible for loss of data you did not export.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break any law, or use the app for fraud, money laundering or any other unlawful purpose;
  • add information about someone without the right to do so, or harass, threaten or harm anyone through the app;
  • upload anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, infringing or harmful, or any virus or malicious code;
  • try to get into accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or test, probe or overload our systems;
  • copy, change, reverse-engineer or resell the app, or use automated means to access it, except as the law expressly allows;
  • get around any limit of your plan or any security feature.

We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or where the law requires it. Where reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

6. Free plan and Pro plan

  • Expense Tracker is free to download and has a free plan. Some features and higher limits need the paid Pro plan. What each plan includes is shown in the app and may change over time.
  • The Pro plan is a subscription bought through Google Play. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it in Google Play's subscription settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the Pro plan until the end of the period already paid for.
  • Prices are shown in Google Play before you buy and include taxes where required. If we change the price, the new price applies from your next renewal, and Google Play or we will tell you before it does.
  • Refunds: all payments and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policy. We do not give refunds directly or for part of a billing period, except where the law requires it.
  • If a payment fails, is not made or is reversed, we may suspend your use of the app until the payment is made. While it is suspended your records are kept, but you may not be able to open or change them.
  • Deleting your account or the app does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in Google Play.

7. Our app and content

The app, its design, software, text, graphics and the Managics name and marks belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal use, while you follow these terms. All other rights are reserved.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without paying you.

8. Changes and availability

  • We keep improving the app, and may add, change or remove features at any time. Some features may be marked as early or trial features and may be less reliable.
  • We try to keep the app running, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We do not promise that it will always be available, timely, secure or free of errors.
  • You may need to install updates to keep using the app. Some features rely on services provided by others, such as app stores, sign-in services and message delivery, and are subject to their availability.

9. Ending the agreement

  • You can stop using the app at any time and ask us to delete your account in Settings → Delete account, or as explained on our delete your account page.
  • We may suspend or close your account under section 5, if it has been inactive for a long time, or if we stop offering the app. If we stop offering the app, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible so you can export your data.
  • When the agreement ends, your right to use the app ends. Sections 3, 4, 7, 10, 11, 12 and 14 continue to apply.

10. Disclaimer

To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without any promise or warranty of any kind, express or implied, including about accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. You use the app and rely on what it shows at your own risk.

11. No liability

  • To the fullest extent the law allows, Signifact Solutions Private Limited accepts no liability of any kind to you or anyone else for your use of the app or for being unable to use it.
  • In particular, we are not responsible for any financial loss, including loss of money, savings, profits, data or opportunity, and late fees, penalties or interest caused by a missed or wrong reminder, figure or record. Every decision you make about your money is yours alone.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law.

12. Your responsibility to us

You agree to make good any loss, damage or cost (including reasonable legal costs) that we suffer because of your breach of these terms, your misuse of the app, or information you added about someone else without the right to do so.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will also tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and delete your account.

14. Law, disputes and contact

  • These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them or the app.
  • Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to resolve the issue. For complaints, contact our Grievance Officer at support@managics.ai. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
  • If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a business that takes over the app, and will tell you if we do.
  • These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the app.
